I recently attended a conference in Guelph put on by The Word Guild, called Write!Canada. This was the seventh time I have attended this conference.
The Continuing Classes and Workshops that I attended stimulated me into renewing God’s call for me to write. What came to me again and again – “the more you write, the better you will become”. In his book, Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell explains that the more we put into a craft, a job, a sport the better we become. I have only read 3 chapters but I can see this extrapolated into all of our existence. I am not in favour of “success” as the world sees it, but I do see how our lives can change in relationship to the amount of time we spend on certain facets of our life.
Consider prayer – how much effort do we put into praying to our God? Do we try to learn, practice, and discuss prayer? In my new blog Under the Cover of Prayer, I hope to delve into the practice of prayer. Can we get better the more we learn, and practice? I believe the answer is yes.
Join me at my new blog and let’s see what God can do when we spend time in prayer.
Blessings,
Jan

I really enjoyed this post Jan. As you well know, I am a novice to writing and the blog world. “Practice makes perfect” and although it may take years to hone the art of praying and any other expressions of communication, one thing I know for sure is that in my case, there was only one way and that was “up”. Effort and practice usually equal results. Good luck on your new blog.

Priorities, perseverance, persistence.
I like, James 1:4 “Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”.
I only ask that God lead me into persevering in what is important to Him. It is so easy for the world to sway me into the way of the world and not God. So that is my prayer – to know His path for me.

Your interest in and passion for prayer, Jan, is a precious thing.
I pray the Lord to prosper your new blog to building up believers in their faith and prayer life, and so extend God’s Kingdom on earth, even as our Lord taught us in His priority of prayer — “…Your kingdon come, Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven …”
